Check Faculty Status in Banner

Issue/Question

I need to be added as an active faculty in Banner

Error: This page is not enabled for current user role

Environment

  • Banner 9
  • Banner Student

Cause

Faculty status is pulled from Banner

Access to Self Service is automatically set up for faculty, students and advisors based on their role.

Resolution

  1. Log in to Snap 
  2. Select Finance Tab
  3. Click Banner PROD Application Navigator
  4. Search for the SIAINST screen
  5. Search by ID in the ID field
    1. Verify Faculty is 
    2. Verify Status is Active 
  6. Contact the Registrar’s Office to have this updated if someone in your department is not able to
  7. Run the Banner Security Name Search Report in Cognos to check on active job
    1. Enter the Last Name and First Name
    2. Select the appropriate record (should have a GOAEACC ID if faculty)
    3. If there is no PositionNumber/PositionDesc/TimesheetOrg/EClassCode/JobEffectiveDate/DerivedEndEffectiveDate/JobChangeDate then they do not have an active job and will not get a Faculty role in Coyote Connections
    4. The department will need to make sure to get an EPAF thru to HR to get an active job for the person so they flow through correctly to Coyote Connections
Note: Faculty/Advisor access to Self Service is set up based on their assignment to Faculty and/or Advisor role - no Banner Access request needed
