Requesting Additional Network Ports Be Installed in a Room

Issue/Question

I want to add additional data jacks to an area

I need a quote for installation of an additional network port

Requesting additional Ethernet ports be installed at a location

Environment

• USD Campus Buildings
• Faculty/Staff

Cause

• Would like to add more network connections
• There is currently no network drop

Resolution

1. ITS can submit a Facilities Management (FM) work request on your behalf to have a new port installed
2. Please contact the Service Desk with the following information:
   1. Number of ports requested (minimum of two)
   2. Building and room number
   3. Location in room (i.e. North wall behind desk)
   4. Whether an estimate is needed prior to approving work request
   5. Index # for FM to bill the work
