Requesting and Creating a New SharePoint Folder/Tab

Issue/Question

We would like a folder in our SharePoint

Please create a new tab in SharePoint

Environment

Resolution

  1. Click the  in the upper right 
  2. Click Add an App
  3. Click classic experience
  4. Click Document Library
  5. Give it a name and click Create
  6. Go back to the Home page of the site
  7. Click the  again
  8. Click Site contents
  9. Click Site Settings
  10. Click Quick Launch
  11. Click the icon next to the newly created library
  12. Select preferred heading from drop-down menu
    Note: Copy URL of the folder
  13. Click OK
    Note:
    The folder should now exist
  14. Steps to create a tab
    1. Go back to the Home page of the site
    2. Click Edit
      Note: Located at bottom of left-side navigation pane
    3. Hover between navigation links to reveal
    4. Click
    5. Type URL of the desired folder under Address
    6. Enter a name for the tab/folder under Display name
    7. Click OK
