Scanner Not Scanning Clean

Issue/Question

• Scanner isn't scanning clean
• Black line when scanning

Environment

• Canon DR 6030C Scanner
• HP MFC

Cause

• Rollers are dirty
• Flat bed glass is dirty
• Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) scan strip is dirty

Resolution

Canon Scanner

1. Blow scanner out with Canned Air
2. Clean rollers with Rubbing Alcohol and lint free cloth

HP MFC scanner

1. If stripe is only showing on pages that run through the ADF
   1. Open the top of the copier
   2. Use a lint-free cloth dampened with water to clean the white strip and glass scanning area above the white strip on the lid.
