Cisco VoIP Phone Forwarding

Issue/Question

Needs assistance in forwarding phone

I need my calls to go to someone else if I don't answer

Environment

  • Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)

Resolution

Note: USD is currently switching to a different VOIP system.  The steps will vary based on if your phone has been updated

Call forwarding can be initiated in multiple ways

From the physical phone

  1. Press the button under ….. until you see Forward
  2. Select the option you want to change using down on middle circular button on phone
  3. Press button under Select
  4. Press the right side of circular button to turn option On
  5. Press down on circular button and enter destination's phone number including area code (605-658-xxxx)
  6. Press down on circular button and enter the number of rings you want your phone to ring before forwarding
  7. Press the button under Set
  8. Press Back arrow to Exit out of menu
  9. Make a test call to ensure the forwarding was successful

Note: If forwarding to a long-distance number, any forwarded call may have applicable long distance fees billed to the voip number (605-357-XXXX)

If your phone has the Coyotes Mascot Head image

From the Webex web portal

  1. Sign in to the Webex web portal 
  2. Click  Settings
  3. Click Calling
  4. Toggle Call Forwarding. in the Call forwarding section
  5. Check  the preferred option
    1. Forward all calls, Forward calls during busy lines, or Forward calls when not answered
    2. Click Save
  6. Once checked, a phone number can then be entered
    Note: Add number without 9 or 9-1
  7. Click Save

From Webex

  1. Open Webex
  2. Click Call settings in the bottom left corner
  3. Click Open Call Preferences
  4. Click add number
  5. Once added, the option to forward to that number will be available
  6. Review the other preferences if needed
  7. Click Save
