Wired Internet is Not Working

Issue/Question

Internet is not working with an Ethernet cable

My office computer will not sign onto the internet. Getting message: Not connected to the internet

Hardwired connection is not working

The internet is not working 

Error: No internet

Error: A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken

Error: No Internet Access

Error: Unidentified Network - No Internet

Error: Adapter is experiencing a problem

Error: Error Details: Disconnected

Error: Computer cannot connect to the domain

Environment

  • Microsoft Windows 10
  • Internet
  • Network

Cause

Network adapter lost network connection and needs to be reset

Resolution

  1. Verify that the Ethernet cable is plugged in
  2. Try unplugging the Ethernet cable and plug it back in
  3. If that does not work, try restarting your computer
  4. If device is a laptop/docking station combination:
    1. Remove laptop from docking station
    2. Remove power from docking station
    3. Reseat laptop on docking station
    4. Plug docking station back in
  5. Reset wired network card
    1. Right click
    2. Click Device Manager
    3. Click beside Network adapters
    4. Click the wired card entry
    5. Press DELETE
    6. Click Uninstall
    7. Restart computer
