Changing the Greeting on Main Line Auto Attendant or Voicemail as a Greeting Administrator

Issue/Question

We have a greeting for our mainline and it needs to be changed

Environment

  • Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
  • Voicemail
  • Greeting Administration

Resolution

  1. Make sure you are listed as a Greeting Administrator for the line
    1. If you are not, have the department chair request permissions for you by contacting the Service Desk ​​​​​
  2. Make sure you know your personal extension's voicemail pin
    1. If you need to reset your PIN Resetting Phone Voicemail PIN
  3. From a VoIP phone dial the Greeting Administrator number
    1. USD Main Campus: 1002018
    2. CCSF: 1002016
  4. You will hear Enter your ID followed by pound
    1. Enter your personal phone number followed by # (example: 658-9876-#)
  5. You will hear Enter your PIN followed by pound
    1. Enter your personal voicemail PIN followed by pound (example: 12345-#)
  6. You will hear Enter the extension of the call handler, followed by pound
    1. Enter the main line phone number followed by # (example: 658-6000-#)
  7. You should now be able to change the greeting (Option 2 changes the Standard Greeting)
