Overview
Coyote Cash is a university-sponsored fund option available to anyone with a Coyote Card, the University of South Dakota’s form of identification. Card holders include all USD (University of South Dakota) faculty, staff and students who use this card frequently, if not daily! Anyone with a Coyote Card can add Coyote Cash on-the-go to purchase goods and services at any participating vendor, whether on or off-campus.
USD will provide a monthly statement containing individual sales and the total amount earned over the month. With this statement, a check can be set up as a direct deposit or it can be mailed to your business.
Students, faculty, and staff can add Coyote Cash their accounts at any time and pay with their Coyote Cards at participating restaurants and retailers. Vendors that wish to accept Coyote Cash Dollars to pay for goods and services.

Benefits
- Additional Marketing:
- We list your business name, and website (if available) in our online vendor list, designed to let students know about all our vendor locations
- Additional customers:
- Students, faculty, and staff will carry their Coyote Card on and around campus. Accepting the card is an effective way to see an increase in business and excellent customer appreciation
- Coyote Card holders may deposit funds to their individual account at the Coyote Card Office, online or through their mobile devices, like a debit card.
- Parents or guests are also able to add funds to student accounts as needed.
- Once the funds are added, the card holder presents the card to participating vendors and funds are deducted using USD provided card readers.

Vendor Responsibilities
- Post Coyote Cash as an accepted form of payment
- Must have a separate Verifone Omni V400M cellular terminal that will be compatible with our Blackboard software system
- These devices have swipe and tap capability
- USD will purchase and support this machine for your business
- Responsible for any actual replacement or repair costs due to loss or damage to the hardware while the hardware is in Merchant’s possession, custody, or control.
- Promptly notify USD concerning any problem with, or deficiency in the hardware via our Online Coyote Cash vendor Support service.
- Do not accept cards for Prohibited Transactions outlined in the contract

Cost
In order to recoup operating costs of a mobile merchant reader, a location needs to take in $3000 in annual sales. Loss at some locations is acceptable and at the discretion of the Director of IT Operations and Development.
