Our dental hygiene clinic in Vermillion is open to the public. Clinical education also occurs through community-based partnerships and outreach experiences throughout South Dakota.. Students learn in the clinics under the close supervision of licensed dentists and licensed hygienists. Our services are offered at reduced rates; however, appointments generally take more time than traditional dental offices.
The USD Department of Dental Hygiene operates the Delta Dental Oral Health Center in Vermillion and provides clinical education experiences through community-based partnerships and outreach locations throughout South Dakota.

We adhere to the following clinical admission policies and would be happy to discuss any of these procedures with you. Please contact Dental Hygiene.
- We will not deny admission to the program or access to dental hygiene services to any individual based on the presence of any bloodborne infectious disease.
- For the protection of our patients, we adhere to infection control procedures known as standard precautions. All patients are treated equally. We sterilize all our instruments and use disposable products whenever possible.
- We follow all Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for health care facilities.
