My account shows up with my parent's first name
How do I change my preferred name
Environment
- USD account
- Email
- Academic Records
Cause
Would like my preferred name to be reflected in USD systems
Resolution
Note: Your email address, username and display name can be changed without the loss of account access, emails, and other data
- Log into Self Service
- Click in the upper left corner
- Click Banner
- Click Personal Information
- Choose Preferred Name
- Fill in the Preferred First, Middle and/or Last Name
- Click Verify
- Your preferred name change requests will go to HR and Registrar respectively and get reviewed/approved
- Once approved your display name will update automatically, if you would like to update your username and email address, please contact the Service Desk
