How do I change rooms before the semester starts?

Can I change my assigned room?

Can I change my roommate before move-in?

Answer

1. Students who are unhappy with their housing placement have the opportunity to change their rooms for a brief window over the summer term. After the room self selection process is over, students will begin being administratively placed into open spaces. Typically, the room change portal opens in mid-May and closes in early July.
2. To change rooms, students must access their Housing Portal.
3. Click Academic Year Housing.
4. Select the appropriate term and click Continue.
5. Find and click the Application Status section at the top of the page.
6. Click Change Room Selection.
7.  Select a new room from the available spaces.
8. Click Save and Continue.
   • Note: Room space selections will not be saved until this button is pressed.

Note: Students that are unhappy with their roommate assignment may choose to switch room assignments as long as the room change portal is open. University Housing will not move a student's roommate out of their room space, as each student has an equal right to their chosen space.
