How can attendees join before host in Webex?

How can I enable a waiting room in WebEx?

Environment

Cause

Join before host will be enabled by default on meetings created after 4 pm April 26, 2021.  This allows attendees to enter into a waiting room, up to 15 minutes before the meeting begins.  

Resolution

Scheduling a meeting 

1. Go to usd.webex.com
2. Click Schedule 
3. Enter all of the relevant information for your meeting as needed
   Note: For more details on scheduling a meeting see Scheduling a Webex Meeting
4. Click Show Advances Options 
5. Click Scheduling Options 
6. Join before host
7. Select 5, 10 or 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time
8. Click Schedule Meeting button

Editing an existing meeting 
Note: If the meeting was originally scheduled using Outlook and not usd.webex.com, the meeting settings need to be changed from Outlook

1. Go to usd.webex.com
2. Click the meeting to open it
3. Click 
4. Click Scheduling tab
5. Join before host
6. Select 5, 10 or 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time
7. Click Save

Outlook

Scheduling a meeting 

1. On the Home tab Click  Schedule Meeting 
2. Click Change Settings
3. Attendees can join meeting
4. Select 5, 10 or 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time
5. Click Okay

Editing an existing meeting

1. Open the meeting in Outlook
2. On the Home tab, Click Change Settings
3. Attendees can join meeting
4. Select 5, 10 or 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time
5. Click Okay
6. Click Send Update
