Receiving Jabber Error for Invalid Certificate

Issue/Question

When I login to Jabber I get an invalid certificate error.

I received this message on my computer, do I need to do anything?

Error: Certificate not valid

Error: Your computer cannot confirm the identity of this server. This could be an attempt by an unknown party to connect to your computer and access confidential information. If you are not sure if you should continue, contact your system administrator. Tell the administrator that Cisco Jabber is prompting you to accept the Express.usd.edu certificate.

Environment

  • Windows 10
  • Cisco Jabber

Resolution

  1. Accept the certificate
  2. Log in again
  3. If still receiving error click Reset Jabber and Log in again
  4. If you experience any issues please contact the Service Desk with the following information:
    1. Nixxxx - Asset Tag Number
    2. Building Room Number
