Opening HEIC files

How can I open HEIC files

I have installed GIMP, how do I save the file as .jpg

Environment

• Windows 10
• Microsoft Store

Cause

Special software is needed to open HEIC files on Windows computers

Resolution

Note: HEIC image format is used by Apple. HEIC images can be opened and converted on Apple devices.

In Windows

1. Download and install GIMP
2. Double Click HEIC file
3. Click Keep - Import the image from a color profile
4. Click File
5. Select Export as
   Note: You can change the name and choose the location to export (save) the file to at the top of pop-up window
6. ClickSelect File Type (By Extension)
7. Scroll until you find the type you want to save as
8. Select File Type - JPEG image
9. Click Export
10. Click Export
