Enabling Download of Panopto Recordings

Issue/Question

How can we allow students to download Panopto recordings

Environment

  • Panopto

Cause

Download of Panopto recordings may be turned off

Resolution

In Panopto 

Note: Must have creator or administrative access for a folder or recording to change settings

  1. Open Panopto
  2. Select USD login
  3. Log in with USD credentials
  4. Click on Browse
  5. Navigate to folder containing recordings you want to allow to be downloaded
  6. To change settings for all recordings in the folder
    1. In the upper right corner click and then click Settings
    2. Click Settings
    3. In Download section select Authenticated users with access
  7. To changing settings for an individual recording
    1. Hover over the desired recording and click 
    2. Click Settings
    3. In Download section select Authenticated users with access

In D2L 

  1. Sign in to D2L
  2. Open D2L course
  3. Click Content
  4. Click Panopto module
  5. Click Panopto - USD
  6. Click to right of course folder
    Note: This is below gray bar
  7. Click Settings
  8. In Download section select Authenticated users with access
