Setting up a Home HotSpot

How do I set up a home HotSpot?

Environment

• Hotspot
• Verizon Jetpack

Cause

Resolution

Note: These direction were designed using a Verizon Jetpack.  Please review the documentation included with your hotspot packaging for any differences 

1. If the HotSpot is new
   1. Insert SIM Card into HotSpot
   2. Insert battery into HotSpot
   3. Charge HotSpot by plugging into an outlet
   4. Save all packaging and documentation from box
2. After HotSpot has been setup and is charged, turn on HotSpot by pressing On/Off button
3. Check if HotSpot has data, do this by pressing On/Off button until screen scrolls to data screen.  You should see an indication that data is available 
4. Go to laptop or other device that needs to be connected to the Internet and connect to the HotSpot
   1. A password is needed, to get the password from the HotSpot, press the On/Off button on the HotSpot until the display shows the password
   2. Enter password on your device
