Starting a Student Organization

How do I create a student organization

Cause

There are steps students must take before USD will recognize an organization on campus. 

Resolution

To start an organization, you will need to prepare the following three things: 

  1. One faculty/staff advisor (MUST have a @usd.edu email address) 
  2. Five Student Members including one designated as President 
  3. One Constitution or Governing Document (Example template can be found at the bottom of the page at USD Involved - Student Programming and MUC - USD Involved

Once you have prepared the above:

  1. Go to USD Involved 
  2. Click Register an Organization 
  3. Fill out and submit the form with your organization information listed above
    Note: this will be sent to the USD Involved Staff, and you will receive an email once your registration has been approved or if there are any issues with your registration.

Any approved student organization may request an organizational account to create a Google Site website
