How do I create a student organization

Cause

There are steps students must take before USD will recognize an organization on campus. 

Resolution

To start an organization, you will need to prepare the following three things: 

  1. One faculty/staff advisor (MUST have a @usd.edu email address) 
  2. Five Student Members including one designated as President 
  3. One Constitution or Governing Document
    1. Examples can be found on the groups page of other organizations in Campus Groups under their "Constitution" tab.

Once you have prepared the above:

  1. Go to Campus Groups 
  2. Click Groups under the Get Involved section
  3. Click Register new Student Organizations 
  4. Fill out and submit the form with your organization information listed above
    Note: this will be sent to the Campus Groups Staff, and you will receive an email once your registration has been approved or if there are any issues with your registration.
