What information should be provided to Facilities Management (FM) regarding audiovisual installation (AV) on new or remodeled construction?

Contractor hired by FM needs to have specifications for power, network, conduit, and scope of work.

      Note: American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements are that the display may not protrude more than 4" from the wall unless the bottom of the display is at 80" or higher.

    • Conduit: if hard ceiling - 1.25" to AV equipment rack

      • Contractor installs conduit, power, network and structure above ceiling for mount
        • If hard ceiling - contractor installs 1.5" National Standard Pipe Thread (NPT) pipe through ceiling and secures to structure
        • Pipe length is decided by ITS
      • AV installer installs projector mount, projector and any AV cabling back to AV equipment rack

    • Media well: power and room for coiled laptop connection cables
