Entering Midterm Grades in Self-Service

How to submit midterm grades

Environment

Cause

Midterm grades are to be entered by faculty via Self-Service.  Letter grades are not used for midterm grading.  If a student is doing deficient work in your class, enter the grade of "DEF" for that student.  DEF is the only grade that can be submitted at midterm.  

Resolution

  1. Log into Experience
  2. Click Faculty/Advisors
  3. In Faculty Dashboard Click next to the class you are entering midterm
    Note: If Error: account is locked; logon denied follow article Self Service Account is Locked, Logon Denied
  4. In the Midterm column, Click Enter 
  5. In the Midterm Grade Roster click  in the Grade Column
    Note: You will only enter Midterm DEF grades - no letter grades are given during Midterm
  6. Click Submit at the bottom of the page
  7. You will receive a message The changes you made were saved successfully
    Note: If you have a very large class roster, remember to submit your work periodically. 
    Note:You cannot change a grade once you submit, but you can continue to fill in the blanks. 
  8. To confirm that grades are accepted by the system, reopen your grading screen.  If grades appear, they were accepted.  If no grades appear, they must be resubmitted.
