Credit Card Machine Not Reading Card Swipes

Issue/Question

Credit swipe is not reading chips or magnetic strips.  we must enter card numbers manually

At least half of our credit card transactions have failed in the past few weeks

I can't restart the credit card machine because the device is secured from tampering

Resolution

  1. Verify that there is no wired network or Wifi outage
  2. Call Elavon Support 800-490-7332
  3. Provide merchant number (listed on machine)
  4. Follow their troubleshooting steps
