Unable to connect to usd.edu using FireFox

Issue/Question

I am getting the following error:

The owner of www.usd.edu has configured their website improperly.  To protect your information from being stolen, Fierfox has not connected to this website.

Environment

  • macOS
  • Firefox 
  • Windows 10

Cause

 

Resolution

Delete Browsing History

  1. Click 57 library icon (upper right hand corner)
  2. Select History
  3. Click Clear Recent History
  4. Click 
  5. Select Everything
  6. Click Clear Now

If deleting the browsing history does not resolve the issue, verify the certificate is built correctly

  1. Navigate to https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/
  2. Type www.usd.edu in Hostname search box
  3. Click Submit
  4. If SSL Report contains errors, escalate to Operations Team
  5. If SSL Report does not contain errors, continue troubleshooting client
