How can I disconnect a VoIP line and remove it from our monthly billing
This phone extension no longer belongs to our department, could you change the charge?
Environment
- Cisco Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Phones
Resolution
Note: A deactivation fee of $116.42 will apply for each line
Once a line is disconnected it may be re-purposed or reassigned to a different department
- Unplug the phone from the wall
- Contact the Service Desk with the following information:
- Number to disconnect
- An index number to charge the disconnect fee
- Answer the following questions
- Will the phone be reconnected in the future for a replacement employee
- If not needed, where can the phone be collected by ITS
- Does your department want to keep the phone number available for future use
Note: If you chose to retain the phone number, the monthly fee will still apply.
