Microsoft Surface Book Screen is Black and Not Responding

Issue/Question

Black screen with no response to keyboard or power button.

Environment

  • Microsoft Surface Book
  • Windows 10

Resolution

  1. Verify power cord is plugged in
  2. Hold power button for 30 seconds
  3. If no response, hold power button and volume up button for 15 seconds
    Note: Computer should restart in about 10 seconds
