Install Wingx, Ortep3 and Mercury software

Issue/Question

This is free software, how do I install it.

Environment

  • Windows
  • Wingx
  • Ortep3
  • Mercury

Resolution

Note:  An account with administrative privileges will need to be logged in.

  1. Navigate to http://www.chem.gla.ac.uk/~louis/software/wingx/
  2. Follow the instructions on the screen 
  3. Navagate to http://www.chem.gla.ac.uk/~louis/software/ortep/
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen
  5. Navigate to https://www.ccdc.cam.ac.uk/solutions/csd-system/components/mercury/
  6. Select Download Mercury
  7. Open Downloads folder
  8. Doulble click Wingx_2018.3
  9. Right click setup.exe
  10. Select Run as adminstrator
  11. Follow prompts
  12. In Downloads double click ortep_2014.1
  13. Right click setup.exe
  14. Select Run as administrator
  15. Follow prompts
  16. In Downloads right click mercurystandalone-3.10.3-windows-installer.exe
  17. Select Run as administrator
  18. Follow prompts
