Minimum System Requirements for Med School Testing Platforms 2024 (updated 1/9/2024)
Note: The SSOM uses ExamSoft Examplify and National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) testing platforms. The requirements below incorporate the requirements of those two platforms.
All Computer Systems
- 1GHz processor or higher
- Minimum screen resolution of 1280x768 with a 32-bit color setting
- 13” screen or larger
- Both wired and wireless network connection capability
- 4GB or more of usable RAM
- 4GB or more of available storage space
- Administrator-level account permissions
- English (United States) Language
- Virtual machines and applications are not allowed
- Only genuine versions of Windows or Mac Operating Systems are supported
Windows Systems
- Non-ARM-based processor
- 64-bit version of Windows 10 (22H2), Windows 11 (22H2 or 23H2)
- Windows 10 and 11 S mode are not compatible
- ASUS Laptops with touchpad/touchscreen are not allowed
Mac Systems
- Mac OS v12.0, v13.0, (Monterey or Ventura)
- Intel, M1, or M2 processor
- Server version of Mac OS X is not supported
