Resolution
Select Claude in Copilot Studio (Agent Level)
AI capabilities evolve rapidly, and each generative model brings distinct strengths, whether it's faster responses, higher-quality outputs, or improved cost efficiency. By using Copilot Studio, you can choose the best model for your agent's orchestration by using a simple dropdown menu.
Step 1: Open Your Agent
- Go to Copilot Studio
- Select the agent you want to configure
- Or create a new agent
Step 2: Access Model Settings
- Click on Settings (gear icon) in the top navigation
- Select Generative AI from the settings menu
Step 3: Select Claude as the Primary Model
- Find the AI Model or Primary model dropdown
- Click the dropdown to see available models
- Select one of the Claude models:
- Claude Sonnet 4 - For general tasks
- Claude Sonnet 4.5 - For enhanced and deep reasoning
Step 4: Save and Test
- Click Save to apply the model selection
- Use the Test your agent panel to verify Claude is working
- Send test prompts to evaluate response quality
NOTE: Claude is available but is in a EXPERIMENTAL STATE, as per Microsoft. We do not recommend using it for business critical or production workloads yet. File reading and upload capabilities are not the same as Microsoft's Copilot. Agents built in Copilot Studio need to have knowledge locations added so they can be read or utilized this includes the Microsoft Copilot Chat folder where basic file uploads are stored. Simply uploaded a file and having the agent read it will not work across all file types. Review creating a Copilot Agent for more information.
