How to check out equipment to customers in Cheqroom
Environment
Resolution
- If you are a student, faculty, or staff member wanting to check out equipment, please follow Equipment Checkout, Reserving Equipment, Checking out Hardware to reserve and check out equipment with Cheqroom
CHEQROOM ADMINS ONLY
- Open the Cheqroom shortcut on the homescreen of the Service Desk iPad
- Sign into Cheqroom using SSO
Note: If the previous user is automatically signed in you will need to close all browsers on the device and re-open the Cheqroom shortcut or a private/incognito browsing window to sign in
- Select appropriate Workspace and Location in the top left panel
- Locate the user's reservation
- Select their reservation
- Click Proceed to checkout in the upper right-hand corner
- Verify the user's contact phone number
- Put in today's date for the signed agreement
Note: The agreement must be signed at every checkout
- Click Check out in the upper right hand corner
- Click Actions
- Select Generate PDF...
- Select User Agreement
Note: Direct customer to the Checkout Rules on the desk before they sign
- Scroll down and click the pencil icon
- Have the user sign the iPad
- Select Generate
- Provide the user with the needed equipment
- Have the user sign into the laptop
- Windows - Sign in
- Mac OS - Manually create a local account
- Log into checkout mac with ITSAdmin account
- Click Settings
- Click Users and Groups
- Click Add User
- Enter the ITSAdmin password
- Enter the user’s name
- Press Tab
- Change account name to first.last instead of firstlast
- Have the user type in their password into the two fields
- Click Create User
- Log out of ITSAdmin account
- Have the user log in with the created account
- Checkout is now complete
