Requesting a Guest User Account or Guest Printing

What are the guest user account policies

I would like to have a guest account

I need an account for the library computers

1. Guest users must ask Service Desk to create their accounts
2. Guest users are allowed an initial access period of 2 hours
   • If the guest needs more time, the Service Desk may give the guest 2 more hours of access if the library is not busy or if there is no “waiting line” for computers.
   • Students, faculty, and staff who need computer access should be considered before allowing more time for guest users.
3. Guest Printing is available
   • If your guest account was created today, you will not be able to print until the next business day
   • If your guest account was created more than 24 hours ago, go to the Service Desk
     1. Pay for the amount you want to add plus taxes
        Note: Check or Credit Card only, we do not take cash payments
     2. Log into a Library computer using guest account
     3. Print to USD-Print
     4. Login at multifunction device using their guest account username and password
     5. Release print jobs
4. Children are welcome to the University Libraries; however, we do not assume responsibility for the safety of children left unattended and do not provide a monitoring service.
5. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied at all times by a guest account-bearing adult who is responsible for supervising the child’s behavior, including the child’s use of the internet.
6. Children 12-15 years of age may have guest accounts created if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian at sign up.
   • Parents or legal guardians of minor children must assume responsibility for their children’s use of the internet via the computers. Children ages 16 and up may have their own guest account created and do not require adult supervision.
