Cause

Need to connect my device to the AP wired port. 

Resolution

Devices that will be connected to an Access Point(AP) using the wired Ethernet port, such as laptops, computers, Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, and other supported devices must be registered in the Smart Devices Portal before they can access the network.

You need to register every device you want to connect to smart device network (wired/wireless) in the smart devices portal. 

Registration Steps:

1. Login to smartdevices.usd.edu using full email address first.last@usd.edu or first.last@coyotes.usd.edu
2. You can get the smart devices SSID wifi password from this page. 
3. Click Add 
4. Enter Device name 
5. Enter mac address (format - xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx)

6. Enter Description (optional)
7. Click submit 
8. Verify that the device appears in the list of registered devices
9. Connect the registered device to the wired Ethernet port on the Access Point (AP)

NOTE: Ignore if the status shows as "Pending" after device registration.
