iPad or Tablet Not Charging

Issue/Question

My University tablet will not charge.

Environment

  • iPad
  • Tablet

Cause

Dust in the charging port

Worn out charging port

Resolution

  1. Connect your device to the USB cable that comes with it
  2. Plug into one of these three power sources
    1. Wall power outlet
    2. Computer
    3. Power Accessory
      • powered USB hub, docking station, or other Apple-certified accessory
  3. Blow air into charging port of iPad or tablet
  4. Verify you see  beside the battery icon in the status bar, or a large battery icon on your Lock screen
