Optional Practical Training (OPT)

Overview

Optional Practical Training (CPT) is temporary employment authorization for international students in F-1 status to gain practical skills in their field of study. Optional practical training includes: pre-completion OPT, post-completion OPT, cap-gap extension, and STEM extension.
