Instructions

  1. Register your Device
    1. Go to smartdevices.usd.edu
      NoteYou must be connected to eduroam or USD's wired network
    2. Log in using your USD credentials first.last
      Note: Enter username and not full email address
    3. Click Add
      1. Enter your Device's Name
        Note: DO NOT 
        include an apostrophe in your device name. ie - Charlie's Device
      2. In Device ID enter your device's MAC or Wi-Fi address. It consists of 6 alphanumeric number pairs separated by colons such as AA:BB:CC:11:22:33.
        Note: Please refer to Finding MAC Address for Smart Devices Registration of commonly used devices
      3. Click Submit
  2. Get WiFi password 
    1. From the Smart Devices Registration page, Find Your WPA Wi-Fi key (PSK) to use on the "Smart Devices" SSID is {password}
      Note
      The PSK is case sensitive and includes the punctuation mark at the end
  3. Connect your Device
    1. Connect your device to Smart Devices wireless network name
    2. Enter wireless password from step 2
    3. Finishing setting up your device as instructed by manufacturer
  4. If you are unable to connect View registered Devices
    1. Go to USD's Smart Devices Registration Page
    2. Find the device you registered and verify the MAC address matches your device
      Note: If the MAC address isn't registered to you or the MAC address doesn't match your device,  you won't be able to connect it to the wireless
    3. In your device's network settings make sure DHCP is set to Auto or On
  5. To Unregister a device
    1. Go to USD's Smart Devices Registration Page
    2. Find the device you registered and verify the MAC address matches your device
    3. Click the Unenroll button
