  1. Email etiquette for asking for a reference or recommendation should be professional
  2. When asking, be specific and offer a description of the position
  3. Offer dates or deadlines
  4. Be sure to thank the person for their reference or recommendation
  5. Make sure to ask someone who is appropriate for such a position and ask for a positive reference or recommendation
