Resolving issues importing room or meal plan data to Banner

Issue/Question

Users in housing report issue importing room assignments or meal plan information to Banner using SZPRIMP or SZPMIMP

Error - ORA-29283: invalid file operation

Environment

  • Banner Admin

Cause

ORA-29283 is usually a permissions problem on either the directory or the file for import

Resolution

ITS STAFF ONLY

  1. Create a TDX ticket at RIS
    1. Log in to TDX
    2. Click on the Knowledge Base link
    3. Click on RIS Shared Service Applications link
    4. Click the Banner link
    5. Click the Banner Student link
    6. Click the Submit Request button in the upper left
    7. Type the name of the Requestor the ticket is entered for
    8. Acct/Dept should populate
    9. Type *** URGENT *** Room (or Meal Plan) import error
    10. Select the environment (Production or Test) from the dropdown
    11. Type or paste the error message the user shared  from the import log file into the Please describe your request box
    12. If available, attach any images/other items to help RIS solve the problem using the Attachment button
  2.  Click the Submit button
