Question

What does the Center for Career Design help with?

Answer

Welcome to the Center for Career Design

Here, students, campus stakeholders and employers experience a resource-rich career services hub. We are committed to supporting everyone who participates in preparing USD students to be career ready. Our staff and a network of mentors, campus services and employers help students whether you are still exploring career options, looking for internships and other experiential opportunities or embarking on a full-time job search.

The Center for Career Design can help you:

  1. Find a part-time job on campus or in the community
  2. Think more deeply about what you want your life to look and feel like overall
  3. Identify a career with work that is meaningful to you
  4. Identify experiential “investments” that develop professional skills and personal insights, such as internships, leadership positions, research, volunteering, hobbies and part-time work
  5. Get through a transition (graduation, major change, e.g.) when you have few ideas and may be feeling overwhelmed by the options or making a wrong life decision
  6. Find full-time employment after graduation
