Question
Do I have to take my loft apart myself?
How do I return my loft at the end of the semester?
I don't want my loft anymore. How do I return it?
Can I be refunded for my loft?
Answer
- In order to return your bed loft, you must first disassemble the loft
- To disassemble a loft, you may check out a mallet from your residence hall front desk. You will need 2-4 able-bodied people to lift the bed frame off of the loft
- After separating the bed frame from the loft, use the mallet to remove the stabilization bar from the loft frame pieces
- Return all loft pieces to the designated spot for your residence hall. If you do not know your designated return spot, ask your RA
- Note: If you do not properly return your loft to its designated spot, you will be charged an improper checkout fee during the checkout process
- If you are returning your loft at the same time that you are leaving university housing, tell your RA during your room check out that you returned your loft pieces to the basement
- If you are returning your loft mid-semester or at the middle of the academic year, you must inform university housing so that you will not be improperly billed
- If your loft is returned after the add/drop date for the current semester, you are not eligible for a refund for that semester
