Question
What should I expect during move-in weekend?
Where do I go during move-in weekend?
How do I get my key?
Answer
- University Housing has a list of frequently asked questions and points of interest surrounding move-in day listed on the University of South Dakota website.
- Students moving in on the officially designated move-in day should report to the parking lot of the Dakota Dome to receive their key. They will then follow their assigned color route, which is designated by the hall the student will be moving into.
- Note: Students moving in on any day other than the officially designated move-in day will report directly to their assigned residence hall to get their key and unload their belongings themselves.
- Upon arrival to the student's assigned residence hall, there will be move in day volunteers ready to help carry the student's belongings.
- Note: University Housing is not responsible for any item lost or damaged by move-in volunteers. We recommend that students label their belongings with their name, hall, room number, and phone number.
- After moving all items into the residence halls, students/parents should move their vehicles to lots designated on their color route map. Students are then welcome to arrange their rooms however they'd like!
Note: Students should make sure they have their student ID before settling into their room. If students did not receive their ID in their key packet at the Dakota Dome, they may be picked up at the residence hall front desk or in the Coyote Card Office.
