Answer

  1. Fire regulation exemptions are offered for spiritual or religious purposes. There are no specific requirements. However, students must work through the exemption process before engaging in any practices outlined in the fire regulations. More information outlining the exemption can be found in the Community Living Policies
  2. In order to apply for a fire regulation exemption, students must fill out the Fire Regulation Exemption Form
  3. This form must be returned to the Central Housing Office in North Complex Commons 100. 
  4. Students applying for this exemption will then meet with either the director or assistant director of housing to discuss expectations.

Note: Students applying for this exemption are expected to discuss it with current and future roommates. If roommates are not comfortable with the exempt practices, University Housing will work with all involved parties to find a solution.
