Quick Access Not Working Properly

Issue/Question

Any time I disconnect my laptop from my docking station, all of my quick access links in File Explorer to the X drive become disconnected

Environment

• Windows 10
• Laptop and Docking Station
• Wired and Wireless network

Cause

There are many reason why this can happen

Resolution

1. Open File Explorer
2. Click View
3. Click Options
4. Select Change folder and search options
5. Uncheck Show recently used files in Quick access
6. Uncheck Show frequently used folders in Quick access
7. Click Clear - Clear File Explorer history
8. Reboot computer
9. Open File Explorer
10. Click View
11. Click Options
12. Select Change folder and search options
13. Check Show recently used files in Quick access
14. Check Show frequently used folders in Quick access
15. Click Apply
16. Click OK
