SharePoint Excel Spreadsheet Displaying Symbols Instead of Text

Issue/Question

My Sharepoint Petty Cash Log is displaying random symbols in place of letters and numbers when everyone else in the department is not having this issue.

Environment

  • Windows 10
  • SharePoint
  • Microsoft Excel

Cause

The Arial font in spreadsheets display as symbols when opened in Excel Online

Resolution

  1. Open the spreadsheet in Excel desktop application
