Question

How do I used a revised version of a Google Doc?

Should I used a revised version of a Google Doc?

Answer

When you are working in Google Docs it is constantly saving the changes you are making. The great thing about Google Docs is that if you make changes on Monday and then you make changes on Friday, you can later decide to restore the Monday changes to the actual document.  To restore an older version of your document, go to File and click See version history.

When you click on this the See version history a dialog box will appear on the right hand side and you will see a list of changes that were made, who made the changes, and the date and time the changes were made. You can click on the older versions to see which changes were made. There are three dots on the right hand side of the different versions and this allows you to name that version or to make a copy of it. If you make a copy of it this will create a new document in your drive containing the content from that version of the document you were on.

If you want to restore an older version of the document click on the version you would like to restore and click on three vertical dots to the right of it. Then click Restore this version, then click Restore.
