How do I restart Flex LM on USD-KEY for Topspin?

Environment

Cause

Topspin's FLEX LM service does not start as normal due to the lack of command line arguments in the service. 

Resolution

ITS STAFF ONLY

Operations Team:

  1. Connect to USD-KEY
  2. Open a Command Prompt as Administrator
  3. Navigate to C:\flexlm\Bruker
  4. Look for processes listening on 0.0.0.0:1700 using netstat -aon. Note the PID.
  5. Kill existing processes by typing taskkill /F /PID pid_value
  6. Start lmgrd.exe using lmgrd.exe -z. This new window must remain open or the licensing will not work.
  7. Navigate to C:\flexlm\Bruker in File Explorer
  8. Open lmtools.exe
  9. Select TOPSPIN_Flex_LM
  10. Click Server Status
  11. Click Perform Status Inquiry
  12. The licenses in use and issued should now be present.
