Laptop Does Not Show My Desktop When Connected to the HDMI or VGA Cable in a Classroom

Issue/Question

The laptop does not show my desktop on the projector screen when connecting it to the HDMI or VGA cable in a classroom

The projector will only display a blank Windows background

My laptop is stuck in extended mode

Environment

• Classroom
• Conference room
• Laptop

Cause

The laptop is set to Extended mode

Resolution

1. On a Windows PC or laptop
   1. Press the key and P key at the same time
   2. From the menu choose Duplicate
2. On a Mac laptop
   1. Go to System Preferences
   2. Choose Display
   3. Select the Arrangement tab
   4. Select Mirror Displays
