Previewing Excel File Freezes Computer

Issue/Question

Programs are freezing when clicking on files

Environment

  • Windows
  • Preview Pane
  • Excel

Cause

When using the Preview Pane and clicking on Excel files, Windows may lock up

Resolution

  1. Press + E on keyboard
  2. Windows Explorer will open
  3. Click View
  4. Click Preview pane to turn it off
