Converting Video Files to MP4 Format

Issue/Question

Video format unusable in editing software

Environment

• Windows
• VLC Media Player
• Windows Media Player
• Camtastic

Cause

Format from older iPhone or from unique software

Resolution

1. Open VLC media player
2. Click Media
3. Select Convert / Save...
4. Click Add and browse to the file you want to convert
5. Click Convert / Save
6. Click after Profile and select your MP4 format
   Note: H.265 MP4 will have a smaller file size but may not work on as many devices as H.264 MP4
7. Click Browse to select where to save the file
   Note: You may rename the output file here
8. Click Start
