Unable to Log Into RIS FTP with FileZilla/SSH/WinSCP

Issue/Question

I have forgotten my FTP password.

I cannot log into FTP and I am receiving the following error

Error: You entered an invalid login name or password 

I try connecting with FileZilla, it says connected, then shows the error below and is disconnected

Error: Connection closed by server with exitcode 255

Error: Connection has been unexpectedly closed. Server sent command exit status 255

Environment

• Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP)
  • SFTP client, i.e., FileZilla, WinSCP
• PuTTy (solely used to reset password)

Resolution

1. If you know your current password, try reset it
   1. Start the PuTTy application
   2. Connect to ftp.prod.sdbor.edu
   3. Enter your user ID and password and press Enter (if resetting, you will have received the credentials to use for initial setup)
   4. When prompted to change password
   5. Enter your Current Password and press Enter
   6. Enter your New Password and press Enter
   7. Enter your New Password a second time and press Enter
   8. If you've entered the information correctly, the PuTTy window will disapear
   9. You should now be able to sign in with Filezilla or WinSCP using the new password

   1. Error message or attachment
   2. FTP Username
