Coyote Card Reader Not Working

Issue/Question

The card reader is not scanning cards after unplugging and restarting

The card reader has not been working for several days

Card readers at the Circulation Desk are not populating ALMA

The Card readers for the Laundry machines are not working 

Error: Event Inactive

Environment

  • Card Reader
  • MF4100
  • Blackboard
  • MRD5

Resolution

  1. Verify the reader is plugged into the correct network cable or device
  2. Power cycle the card reader if possible
  3. Test both tapping and swiping with several cards, if possible
  4. Please contact the Service Desk with the following information: 
    1. Location 
    2. What card reader is not working
    3. any error messages received
    4. NI Number (Asset Tag) of device(s)
