Setting Permissions to Sharepoint Shared Access

Issue/Question

Can I restrict the ability to download a file from sharepoint but still let people view it

Environment

Resolution

  1. Browse to the folder or file you want to share
  2. Hover your mouse pointer over the folder/file
  3. Click the ...
  4. Click Manage Access
  5. Click Start Sharing
  6. Click the gear next to Copy Link
  7. Under More Settings, click the dropdown
  8. Click Can't Download
  9. Select the people you want to share with
  10. Click Apply
