Receiving Windows Error: Can't Sign into Your Account

Issue/Question

Error: We can’t sign into your account. This problem can often be fixed by signing out of your account and then signing back in. If you don’t sign out now, any files you create or changes you make will be lost.

Error: We can't sign into your account.  Try signing in and out.

Environment

  • Windows 11

Resolution

  1. Sign out of the computer, restart, then sign back in
    Note: This may need to be repeated a minimum of three times
  2. If that does not fix it, please contact the Service Desk with the following information: 
    1. Computer number with issue
    2. Name of person trying to log in
